RESCUE CLASS The Rescue Diver course is one of the most challenging and rewarding
classes and teaches you emergency prevention, intervention and management. Rescue is the first course to focus on building a broader

your confidence as you learn to efficiently handle potential problems and to look after yourself, friends and family.
Prerequisites

Successful completion of a CPR program within the past two years
Course Content
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water
sessions, you'll cover:
- Self-rescue and diver stress
- Dive first aid
- Emergency management and equipment
- Swimming and non-swimming assists
- Panicked diver response
- Underwater problems
- Missing diver procedures
- Surfacing the unconscious diver
- Inwater artificial respiration
- Exits
- First Aid procedures for pressure related accidents
- Dive accident scenarios
Course Format
There are five chapters to the Rescue Diver book and course participants must read the materials and complete both the Quick Review
questionnaires and Knowledge Review at the end of every chapter. There are normally five two to three hour sessions during which time
each chapter is covered in detail. One pool session is useful to practice rescue techniques and then the skills will be practiced
over the course of one weekend of open water diving.
Course Scheduling

Sample Dive Sites
The Rescue course can be done at almost any dive site. Many of the skills are done on the surface. The underwater skills can be done
in any calm waters and we will select an area that is 20-40 feet with some interesting dives to visit before or after we have
completed the rescue scenarios.
